Project Background & Market Orientation
Ethiopia’s wood processing industry generates large volumes of waste sawdust annually, commonly disposed of by open burning or random stacking, causing resource waste and air pollution. Strict local bans on traditional log charcoal production have created a major shortage of clean civilian fuel, while market demand for household and catering charcoal continues to rise.
The client launched an integrated sawdust carbonization and briquetting project to convert industrial wood waste into standardized eco-friendly charcoal briquettes, targeting the local civilian clean fuel market and solving both solid waste and fuel supply problems.
Core On-Site Difficulties
On-site challenges include fluctuating sawdust moisture from scattered raw material sources, unstable local power supply hindering continuous production, and low competitiveness of non-standard traditional charcoal products. Outdated manual kilns also limit production capacity and cannot meet large-scale market orders.
Customized Technical Solution
We provide a full-set automatic continuous drum carbonization and briquetting integrated system tailored for industrial fine-grain biomass. The equipment features strong anti-fluctuation performance, which can adapt to sawdust with 14%-16% moisture. The whole line realizes automatic feeding, constant-temperature oxygen-free carbonization, flue gas recycling, sealed cooling and intelligent briquetting molding. Different from traditional intermittent equipment, this production line supports 24-hour continuous industrial operation, greatly improving single-line output and product consistency.
Project Operation Benefits
The project successfully realizes the industrial closed-loop utilization of wood processing waste. The produced high-density sawdust charcoal briquettes have high fixed carbon, low ash content and long combustion time, which are highly recognized in the local civilian and commercial fuel markets. While helping local factories solve solid waste environmental assessment problems, the client builds a stable and profitable clean fuel industrial chain, effectively alleviating local deforestation and achieving dual returns of environmental protection and commercial economy.
