Can tire pyrolysis oil be used directly?

 Tire pyrolysis oil is mainly composed of high-molecular rubber hydrocarbons composed of rubber (including natural rubber, synthetic rubber), carbon black and a variety of organic and inorganic additives (including plasticizers, antioxidants, sulfur and zinc oxide, etc.). Under certain temperature and pressure, catalytic cracking reactions occur and small molecular C-H structure compounds are formed.

 Not suitable for ordinary vehicles or internal combustion engines: Tire pyrolysis oil contains a high proportion of cycloalkanes and aromatics. These components will reduce the quality of the oil, resulting in incomplete combustion and emission of exhaust gas containing a large amount of fine particulate matter (PM), thereby increasing the PM2.5 concentration in the air. In addition, tire pyrolysis oil also has problems such as low flash point, high density and high viscosity. Its high viscosity may cause a series of problems such as poor atomization effect, poor fluidity, unstable engine operation and carbon deposition. Therefore, tire pyrolysis oil is not suitable for direct use in ordinary vehicles or internal combustion engines.

 Tire pyrolysis oil has a high calorific value and can be used as industrial fuel to provide combustion and heating for steel plants, glass plants, cement plants, ceramic plants and boilers. Tire pyrolysis oil can be further refined into non-standard diesel through deep processing. In this process, the crude tire oil will be processed by distillation and refining equipment, and impurities will be removed by distillation and secondary fine refining will be carried out. After multi-stage catalytic reactions, the originally black and heavy tire oil will be refined into clean, bright and non-standard diesel. This oil can be widely used in diesel generators, burners, heavy machinery, agricultural machinery and boilers.
