Application of NaoH as catalyst in tire pyrolysis
2024-10-30
NaOH has many applications as a catalyst in tire pyrolysis, as follows:
1. Promote polymer chain breakage: Tire rubber is an organic polymer. During the pyrolysis process, the polymer chain needs to be broken to obtain various products. NaOH can accelerate the breakage of this polymer chain, making the pyrolysis reaction easier to proceed. This can decompose the tire rubber more fully at a relatively low temperature and improve the pyrolysis efficiency.
2. Increase pyrolysis oil production: At the same pyrolysis temperature, adding NaOH can increase the production of liquid oil. For example, there are experiments at a pyrolysis temperature of 550°C, and when 10% NaOH is added, the pyrolysis oil production rate is has been significantly improved. This is of great significance for recovering fuel oil from waste tires and can improve the recycling rate of resources.
3. Improve the quality of pyrolysis oil: The addition of NaOH can change the composition and properties of pyrolysis oil and improve its quality. Some impurity components in the pyrolysis oil may be removed by reacting with NaOH, thereby reducing the impurity content in the pyrolysis oil. In addition, NaOH can also promote some specific chemical reactions, change the structure of the compounds in the pyrolysis oil, and improve its combustion performance and chemical stability.
4. Affects the distribution of pyrolysis products: In addition to improving the yield and quality of pyrolysis oil, NaOH as a catalyst also affects the generation of gas and solid products during the pyrolysis process. It can promote the generation of small molecular gases (such as hydrogen and methane) and may change the structure and properties of pyrolytic carbon. For example, NaOH can significantly increase the hydrogen and methane content of the gas.
However, NaOH also has some problems as a catalyst, such as being highly irritating and corrosive. During use, you need to pay attention to safety protection and equipment anti-corrosion.
